Our Story
Chingu KC began as a restaurant built on comfort, creativity, and the flavors Chef KeeYoung Kim grew up with. Today, Chingu has evolved into a larger family of ideas. Sura Eats sauces, Chingu Coffee, and our catering program all come from the same place. We believe good food connects people, and we want to share that feeling in every kitchen, café, and event we touch.
Chingu is more than a name. It means friend. It reflects how we cook, how we serve, and how we build community in Kansas City.

To bring Korean flavors and hospitality into everyday life. We create sauces that make cooking simple and delicious. We run a coffee shop that feels warm and familiar. We cater events that celebrate culture and connection. Everything we do honors craft, intention, and the belief that food should feel personal.
MEET THE CHEF
KEEYOUNG KIM
Chef KeeYoung is a Korean American chef who learned early on that food is a language. His work blends tradition with curiosity, often inspired by the memories and meals that shaped him. After years in restaurants, he launched Sura Eats and later opened Chingu to bring modern Korean comfort to Kansas City. Today he leads all Chingu brands, guiding the flavor, the vision, and the heart of what we do.
